ABOUT IVAN TOUKO and LA CONNEXIONAL

Ivan Ngandjui Touko is a multidisciplinary artist, filmmaker, facilitator and co-founder of La Connexional. Through community events, cultural programming and storytelling, his work brings people of different backgrounds together and makes room for belonging. With a mission to showcase the talents and contributions of people of African, Black, Caribbean and Latin descent, La Connexional has brought together more than 10,000 guests across more than 150 in-person experiences and events.
GROOVE Culture & Activations is an evolution of that work, carrying its focus on connection into movement, facilitation, education and the importance of belonging. Ivan leads dance and cultural workshops in English and French, inviting people to find connection through shared rhythms and joyful activations.
ABOUT LEVI ETHERINGTON and LIMINAL ARTS & MEDIA
Levi Etherington is an Edmonton-based director and multimodal artist. His filmmaking has grown through years of supporting local artists, organizations, and communities through creative video work.
Through Liminal Arts & Media, Levi creates artist portraits, public-art films, event documentaries, and experimental projects. His work is visually driven and shaped by rhythm.
Across mediums, Levi is interested in how creative experiences can loosen preconceptions and open deeper ways of seeing. His paintings explore embodiment and expansion. Looking ahead, he plans to continue collaborating with emerging artists and deepen his personal research through painting and underwater filmmaking.
Levi’s collaboration with Ivan Touko grew through La Connexional events, where he worked as both a DJ and videographer in spaces centred on music, dance, culture, and community. That shared history helped lay the foundation for In Murmuration: UBUNTU, which Levi filmed, edited, and co-directed alongside Ivan.
Produced with the generous support of the City of Edmonton’s Anti-Racism Grant Program, the Alberta Anti-Racism Grant Program and FAVA.
