Sandra is a member of the Bigstone Cree Nation, her mother’s community and her father is from Kapawe’no First Nation. She has an M.A. in Indigenous Studies on Indigenous dance and well-being. She used indigenous and decolonizing approaches to look at holistic wellness through dance. She has experience in reconciliation work and the TRC, anti-racism, and Indigenous history, culture, and dance. Sandra is an award winning educator, TEDx speaker, champion hoop dancer, award winning filmmaker, writer and artist. Her work for the past two decades has focused on land-based practices and social justice issues, such as Missing and Murdered Indigneous Women.
