Details of the opportunity:
The Baby Ghosts Studio Development Fund and the University of Waterloo are looking to bring in a Layout Designer for Longplay: Cultivating Economically Sustainable Game Studios in Canada. This research project studies the efficacy of incubator, accelerator, and mentorship programs (i.e. support hubs) in cultivating economically sustainable studio structures in the Canadian videogame industry.
The layout designer would complete page layouts for a 30-40 page white paper, based around key art provided by an illustrator. Some comparable projects include That's My Jam! and If You Don't Like the Game, Change the Rules. We would aim to provide text lock by mid-September and are looking to wrap the project by mid-October. All work will be completed virtually and we are open to various styles and approaches, although we prefer that the layouts be completed in Adobe InDesign.
We are seeking a IBPOC collaborator for this project. No AI is permitted for any aspect of the design process. For funding reasons, you must be a resident of Canada.
